Congratulations to CSUN Theatre student and playwright Sean Boring! His play, Thumb Wars received the "Encore! Producer's Award" from the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival which brings with it the opportunity to extend the run of the play into the summer. New dates and times to be announced soon.
Thumb Wars is a comedic story of the he-said/she-said misinterpretations that result from having relationships via device, or "dating with your thumbs." The fast-paced writing, charismatic cast and emoji-filled (much to one character's chagrin) projections made this show a winner.
Sean was one of dozens of applicants for the Arts Council's first "Matadors Community Credit Union Award for Student Projects". His award funds ($1,000) allowed him to pay for all costs associated with producing a play for the Festival; space rental, staffing, props, etc.
The Arts Council is proud to be a sponsor of this production and is looking forward to seeing more great work from Sean in the future.
